On Tuesday, Nov. 7, school board elections take place. One of your daily calendar notes will be your reminder to vote at your local polling station — you should place your vote for Elaine Larabee.
A school board official holds an important role, both for the strength of our district schools and for our community. All Eden Prairie residents should be aware of the leadership that Elaine has provided; she currently serves as board chair. She has embraced her duties and leadership role with refreshing honesty and candor. She truly believes in inspiring each student every day and carries that through the work the board envisions and completes.
She has learned her role, trained others, tackled management issues and plotted out strategic goals for our students, staff and administration. She is eager to support and enhance the vision for our success.
Elaine’s financial expertise and her volunteer experiences add to our confidence in knowing she is the right person for the job. We know she works across the community to increase communication and awareness of our district needs.
Elaine is well-known and respected for her thoughtfulness, she makes tough decisions. She doesn’t back down and she takes a comprehensive approach to finding solutions that benefit all. Elaine knows the importance of collaboration between parents, teachers and the community and ensures these partnerships are part of the everyday process in guiding our district.
Our children have gone through the Eden Prairie school system, we understand the strength of our district and are aware of the work needed to ensure the success of each student. We believe it is of great importance to re-elect someone who knows our history, understands the hard work and dedication it takes to be an effective and productive board member and most importantly, is a strong voice to continue putting the focus on each and every student.
Elaine Larabee should have your vote.

Letter: Larabee provides effective leadership
Eden Prairie News
by Scott and Barbara Richter
Of the many factors that drive people to choose a city in which to reside, a great school district is often at the top of a parent's wish list. In order to have a great school district, we need to have a strong school board. Elaine Larabee's extensive finance background paired with her kind, effective leadership are just the kinds of qualities we need to make sure remain on our school board.
We have been residents of Eden Prairie for 20 years. Both of our children were fortunate enough to have attended and graduated from Eden Prairie Schools and to have had wonderful teachers and support systems throughout their education. As active volunteers in our kids' school, we witnessed firsthand the importance of good, strong, effective leadership.
Elaine Larabee has played a pivotal role in leading the school district for the past four years.
We are voting for Elaine Larabee for school board to keep Eden Prairie at the top of all families' wish lists, we encourage you to vote for her as well.

Letter: Larabee truly cares about kids
Eden Prairie News
by Shawn and Christy Schively
In 2012 we made the decision to move our youngest child out of the Eden Prairie Schools. At that time we didn't feel we could trust that she would be getting what was needed. We chose to bring her back in 2014. We made that decision because we found trust again in our administration and began to see healing within our schools and community. Elaine Larabee had a role in that.
We have seen her spend endless hours volunteering, often volunteering with her. We've seen firsthand her passion and dedication to the schools and community. She is not afraid of dong the work and getting her hands dirty. She doesn't do anything halfway. She listens and takes in all the information.
We need more candidates like Elaine. She is fiscally responsible, has raised two kids that have gone through our school system and is a longtime resident. She understands and has benefitted from everything our schools have to offer.
She will always speak her mind and do her best to do the right things, even if it isn't the most popular option. She's not afraid to make the hard decisions and does not back down. She is always willing to sit down and listen and explain things. She truly cares about all kids and all of our schools.
We proudly supported Elaine four years ago and without hesitation we fully support her again.
Please join us on Nov. 7 and vote for Elaine Larabee.

Letter: Larabee guides the School Board effectively
Eden Prairie News
by Gary Stevens
Please join me in voting to re-elect Elaine Larabee to the Eden Prairie School Board on Tuesday, Nov. 7. As a 41-year EP resident, I can confidently say Elaine is one of the most capable and honest public servants our city has ever had.
We have always prized our strong Eden Prairie Schools. They don’t stay strong by accident. It takes continuous effort and leadership.
As chair of the School Board, Elaine has led with vision and ensured the support needed to continue providing our kids a great education. Elaine has guided several key leadership transitions and management initiatives which have proven critical to continued progress on what matters most: that our teachers have all the tools and inspiration they need every day in the classroom to nourish success in our kids.
Accomplishing this takes strong fiscal discipline. Backed by a 15-year career as an accountant, Elaine’s skill has steadfastly built a fiscal outlook stronger than every other district in the area. It’s taken consistent work and management with administration to squeeze every efficiency and good practice possible into the budget.
Elaine’s leadership has provided our kids with a guarantee that the resources they rely on to provide them a top education will be there when needed. As a taxpayer, her work also gives me every confidence my tax dollars are used carefully and efficiently.
On Nov. 7, let’s continue on a path of skilled leadership and careful fiscal discipline for EP students — and our whole city — by re-electing Elaine Larabee to the School Board.
